Japanese Koishikawa Arsenal Type 30 Bolt Action Rifle 6.5x50mmSR

Serial no. 517044. Manufactured circa the early 1900s at Koishikawa Arsenal, chambered in 6.5x50mmSR Japanese, 31″ round barrel. Bore shows light oxidation with strong, well-defined rifling remaining. The rifle remains in overall very good condition, with the Imperial chrysanthemum (“mum”) remaining intact on the receiver, adding considerably to its collector appeal. The stock is equally well preserved, displaying only minimal handling and service wear for its age. Adopted in 1897, the Type 30 was Japan’s first standard-production Arisaka rifle and served during the Russo-Japanese War, making surviving examples—particularly those retaining an intact mum—desirable pieces of early Imperial Japanese military history. Action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
