Serial no. 5504r. Manufactured in 1942 by J.P. Sauer & Sohn, chambered in 8mm Mauser, 24″ round barrel. Bore is bright with light scattered frosting noted, while the rifling remains strong and well defined. Serial numbers are matching throughout except for the bolt. The finish has aged to a grey patina with scattered areas of surface oxidation present. Original Waffenamt proofs and factory markings remain sharp and clearly visible. The stock shows only light handling and service impressions. A solid example of a “ce” code J.P. Sauer-produced K98k manufactured during the height of WWII. Action is smooth and functions correctly.
